Kalyan - Dombivli Muncipal Corporation

Kalyan-Dombivli is a Twin city municipal corporation with its headquarters located in Kalyan. It is located in Thane district in the Indian state of Maharashtra. It was formed in 1982 to administer to the needs of the growing population of the twin townships of Kalyan and Dombivli. Earlier both were individual towns with a history of 700 years.

It is often called the second cultural capital of Maharashtra. Pune stands first in the list. This is due to the highly educated masses of these cities.

Dombivili is a fully literate town in Maharashtra and second literate town in India.

Area of Kalyan Dombivli is 137.15 square kilometres (52.95 sq mi)

Dombivli is located 50 Kms away from the financial capital, Mumbai.,  twenty kilometers from Thane and six kilometers from Kalyan and is a railway station on the Central Railway. It is one of the fastest growing  municipal corporations.  Kalyan-Dombivli municipal corporation is fully e-governed.
